Accident at work claim settled for Hungarian factory worker

Forklift trucks are a common cause of warehouse injury claims due to human error on the part of the forklift truck driver and as a result of the employer not having adequate systems in place to ensure the risk of injury to their workers by forklift trucks is kept to an absolute minimum.
Siobhan McIvor, has extensive expertise in securing the highest possible award, as quickly as possible, for victims of forklift truck accident claims.
The most recent settlement she secured was for a young Hungarian factory worker who sustained foot fractures which required surgically fixing, further to his colleague reversing a forklift truck over his foot at work.
The Claimant’s employer tried to argue his compensation would be reduced due to his being partly responsible for the accident for standing too close to the forklift driver, which argument was resisted by Osbornes Law.
Osbornes Law ensured the Claimant benefited from medical rehabilitation funded by his employer’s insurer and on their advice the Claimant rejected offers ranging from £25,000 to £75,000, before ultimately securing a settlement in the sum of £85,000.
Siobhan McIvor was assisted by Hungarian speaking solicitor, Diana Magyar who ensured the Claimant was able to both give instructions and receive all advice in his native Hungarian language.
If you have suffered from an accident at work, Osbornes Law is dedicated to providing expert legal support.
