17 Nov 2021 | Siobhan McIvorOsbornes Law secures £100,000 settlement for Hungarian woman who tripped over a shopping bag at work
Siobhan McIvor, a Partner in the Personal Injury Department of Osbornes Law, recently settled an accident at work claim with the help of Hungarian lawyer Diana Magyar further to the Claimant, who worked as a waitress in a cafe, tripping over a bag of a shopping bag at work, sustaining a nasty knee fracture for which she would probably need a knee replacement in due course.
The Claimant was unable to work for 6 months and struggled on her return eventually resigning to undergo intensive rehabilitation before commencing different employment some months later. The case was complicated by the fact that the Claimant, unfortunately, tripped and hurt the same knee again in the year following the accident which raised questions as to the extent to which ongoing pain related to the first accident as opposed to the second.
The Claimant was extremely pleased with the settlement achieved and service provided describing Osbornes as “very Professional” and confirming she felt “grateful” and “lucky” to have instructed Osbornes Law having felt supported in every way by them. In a glowing testimonial, she rated Osbornes as achieving a 20 out of 10 rating in her eyes.
