Client who slipped at work obtains a good settlement
Laura Swaine recently settled a work accident claim for a client who slipped at work. This case settled without liability being agreed and the client was able to recover a good settlement.
Our client was working when she hit her head on a machine
Our client was working on a production line for the Defendant and the above premises. Our client had to change her gloves. As she turned around her foot slipped on a pineapple skin that was on the floor causing the Claimant to fell backwards hitting her head on the machine.
The client suffered a cut to the back of her head and was kept in hospital as a blood clot had been found. At first Laura was worried that our client may have suffered a severe head injury however she returned to work quite quickly after the accident and had no ongoing head injury symptoms.
Laura issues court proceedings
The insurance company denied liability and after finalising the medical evidence Laura issued court proceedings. Following this the Defendant’s solicitor entered into negotiations and the claim was settled for a sum that our client was happy to settle for.
