Osbornes Law secures a £270,000 settlement for a Polish woman who slipped as a schoolgirl on a wet floor at school.
Siobhan McIvor, a Partner in the Personal Injury Department of Osbornes Law secured a £270,000 settlement further to the Claimant slipping as a schoolgirl and sustaining a nasty femoral head fracture for which she eventually underwent hip replacement surgery.
The insurers of the school initially denied liability but were persuaded to change their position to a full admission by Osbornes Law.
The injury cast a real cloud over the Claimant’s schooling with the Claimant battling pain and loss of mobility and undergoing various surgical procedures/medical treatment.
The Claimant rejected a number of offers from the school’s insurers over the course of the claim ranging from £120,000 to £220,000, with Osbornes Law working diligently to obtain the necessary evidence to secure the highest possible settlement and persuade the insurers to increase substantially their offers of settlement.
