El ciclista recibe una compensación tras ser atropellado por un coche
Laura Swaine ha llegado a un acuerdo recientemente para un ciclista que fue atropellado por un coche que se incorporaba a la calle principal. El ciclista bajaba por la calle principal cuando el demandado giró y entró en la vía desde una bocacalle. El demandado no comprobó si pasaba alguien y chocó con el ciclista. El ciclista sufrió varias fracturas en la cara y daño en la visión, además de lesiones en los tejidos blandos de la pierna, la mano y el hombro.
Laura obtuvo informes de varios expertos médicos
Al principio, la aseguradora negó responsabilidad alegando que el demandado procedió adecuadamente. Laura recopiló informes de varios expertos médicos, como un cirujano maxilofacial y un experto en urgencias para obtener el cuadro completo de las lesiones del ciclista y su pronóstico. El ciclista tenía seguro de salud privado y pudo utilizarlo para someterse a una primera fase de rehabilitación y consultar con un médico privado las fracturas faciales.
Tras los procedimientos judiciales, empezaron las negociaciones
Después de obtener todas las pruebas médicas, Laura se dirigió a la aseguradora del demandado para llegar a un acuerdo, pero no estaban dispuestos a negociar. Se iniciaron los procedimientos judiciales e instruyeron a un abogado para representar al demandado. Tras revisar el expediente, el abogado del demandado admitió la responsabilidad en la defensa y comenzaron las negociaciones.
