Un motociclista recibe £400,000 tras sufrir un accidente de tráfico

Una noche de 2009, el Sr. C, un italiano que trabaja en un hotel de 5 estrellas, volvía a casa en su ciclomotor por el centro de Londres. Circulaba por una carretera recta cuando un taxista se interpuso en su camino al intentar incorporarse a una calle a su derecha. El taxi invadió su carril y colisionó con C, causándole lesiones graves.

Esta era su versión de los hechos y parecía un caso sencillo. Sin embargo, el Sr. C. no habla bien el inglés y el agente de policía que acudió a la escena del accidente registró en su libro de bolsillo una versión diferente de los hechos, alegando que el Sr. C. se incorporó a la vía principal, tal y como le confirmó el conductor del taxi, quien le culpó de haber provocado el accidente. No hubo testigos independientes.

Creímos la versión de los hechos del Sr. C. y nos dispusimos a obtener pruebas que demostraran que no podía haber estado en la carretera lateral. La parte contraria negó rotundamente la responsabilidad y fue necesario iniciar procedimientos judiciales ante el High Court. Finalmente, admitieron la responsabilidad y el caso se resolvió por unas £400,000.
