What Can London Learn From Europe’s Leading Cycling Cities?

Osbornes Law and London Cycling Campaign bring European cycling innovators to London for a one-night-only event

Osbornes Law and the London Cycling Campaign (LCC) are bringing together leading voices in cycling, transport and city design from across Europe for a special evening exploring what London can learn from cities that are changing the way people move.

Innovations in Urban Cycling from Europe, taking place on Thursday 22 October 2026 at NLA – The London Centre, will showcase the ideas, infrastructure and policies reshaping cycling in cities including Barcelona, Oslo, Paris, Utrecht, Ghent, Brussels and Copenhagen.

From Barcelona’s superblocks and Oslo’s approach to Vision Zero to the transformation of streets in Paris, the evening will explore the practical ideas behind some of Europe’s most ambitious changes to urban transport — what has worked, what has been learned and what London could do next.

Speakers include Melissa and Chris Bruntlett, authors of Building the Cycling City; Silvia Casorrán, former Deputy Chief Architect at Barcelona City Council; Anine Hartmann, former Walking and Cycling Policy Lead for the City of Oslo; and Paul Monat from Mission Vélo in the Mayor of Paris’ office, alongside other specialists from across Europe.

But this will not be a conventional conference.

20 slides. 20 seconds each. 6 minutes 40 seconds.

Each speaker will take on a PechaKucha-style challenge: 20 slides, shown for just 20 seconds each, giving them only 6 minutes and 40 seconds to share their ideas, experience and lessons.

The result will be a fast-paced tour of European cycling innovation, followed by drinks and an opportunity to meet the speakers, exchange ideas and continue the conversation.
