  • Hajjaj v City of Westminster; Akhter v LB Waltham Forest [2021] EWCA 1688A successful appeal to the Court of Appeal to overturn a previous County Court decision relating to the steps a Local Authority are required to take when assessing whether an offer of private rented accommodation is suitable. The court confirmed that a Local Authority cannot make assumptions to satisfy themselves that the criteria in Article 3 of the Homelessness (Suitability of Accommodation) (England) Order 2012 are complied with.
