Firm celebrates two finalists in the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards 2019 (LALYs)

Solicitors William Ford and Edward Taylor in our Housing & Social Care Department have been shortlisted as finalists for the 2019 Legal Aid Practitioners Group, LALYs awards.

William Ford, Partner is a Finalist in the Social & Welfare category and Edward Taylor is a Finalist in the Children’s Rights category

Edward Taylor deals with a range of work across housing law community care, public law and welfare benefits. He has developed a recognised expertise in the area of age assessments. Since qualifying, Edward has built a niche practice acting for unaccompanied asylum seeking minors whose age is disputed by the Home Office and/or social services. He is now seen as the “go to” solicitor by many of the referring agencies in this area and is developing as one of the leading practitioners in this area.

William Ford undertakes a range of work in the categories of Housing, Community Care, Public Law and Welfare Benefits.  He has particular interest in cases concerning migrants and those involving the eligibility of EU and other migrants to apply for benefits and have access to community care and housing services. He understands the links between different parts of the law – immigration status to your housing or care provisions and housing which makes him unique in his representation.

The winners will be announced by Baroness Helen Kennedy QC at a ceremony in central London on 10 July. The LALYs are organised by the Legal Aid Practitioners Group and are into their 17th year.
