The Spanish community in London comes together in a solidarity event to support those affected by the DANA in Valencia

The solidarity event “Juntos por Valencia”, organised by El Ibérico and the Vicente Cañada Blanch Spanish Institute, will raise funds for those affected by the DANA floods in Valencia.

The Spanish community in London is mobilising to support the families impacted by the DANA in Valencia with a charity event to be held on Saturday 5 July, from 12:00 to 18:00, in the courtyard of the Vicente Cañada Blanch Spanish Institute, in London. All proceeds from the £15 entry tickets will go entirely to the families affected by the DANA.

The event is sponsored by Osbornes Law Solicitors and EU Network, and is jointly organised by El Ibérico Gratuito newspaper and the Vicente Cañada Blanch Spanish Institute.

Isidoro Bonilla, a senior solicitor at Osbornes Law comments:

“Osbornes is delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile cause, raising money for those who have been affected by the floods. We are sure that the Spanish community in London will come together on the 5th of July, on what will be a very special day.”

The highlight of the day will be a paella cooked live by Arros QD’s chefs, the London restaurant led by renowned chef Quique Dacosta. Attendees will also enjoy appetisers courtesy of Mevalco and The Ojos Food, along with live music and traditional Spanish dances performed by the Ilusión Flamenca dance school.

Several raffles will also be held throughout the event. Among the prizes is a return flight to New York, courtesy of El Ibérico and operated by Air Europa.

All funds raised will be managed by Fundació Horta Sud, a non-profit organisation with extensive experience in social projects in the Valencia region. The foundation holds an international CAF validation certificate, ensuring transparent and effective management of donations.

The funds will go towards the project “Social Reconstruction of l’Horta Sud after the DANA”, which supports families most affected by the heavy floods that hit the Comunidad Valenciana in late October last year.
