Hugh is a regular conference speaker to both medical and legal audiences and has written widely on medical negligence topics. Publications include the Journal of Personal Injury Law (JPIL) and as co-author of the practitioner text Lewis & Buchan on Clinical Negligence (8th Ed). He has commented on the reform of the medical claims process and in response to government consultations.
Hailing from a family of healthcare professionals, Hugh has been exposed to the practice of medicine throughout much of his personal and professional life.
When a change of scene is necessary, Hugh is a club cyclist and has participated in a number of cycling and other sports events, supporting the Spinal Injuries Association and Back Up spinal charities.
