Road safety week 2011
News article published on: 20th June 2012
Recent figures have shown that up to June 2011, 25,560 people were injured in a road traffic accident and 1,910 people were involved in a fatal accident on the road.
It is these figures which the national charity Brake want to see a reduction in. To highlight this issue Brake are once again campaigning throughout National Road Safety Week, which this year is running from 21 -27th November 2011.
Brake is a charity which campaigns to prevent road traffic accidents from taking place in the first instance and also supports the victims of those who have been involved in such an accident. Brake founded road safety week as an annual event to heighten the awareness of the number of accidents which take place on the road and the steps everyone can take to stop the injuries and deaths which occur on the road.
