Leading adoption lawyer, Naomi Angell, has spoken to BBC radio Hereford and Worcester about intercountry adoption.

The BBC were highlighting the case of Emily who travelled to Uganda on a volunteering project working with children orphanage ‘Whisper’. Emily its trying to adopt a baby who came to the orphanage at only five days old.

Naomi spoke about the intercountry adoption process, including obtaining an adoption order from abroad followed by the adoption process in England which results in the individual(s) adopting being recognised as a child’s legal parents.

Naomi described how she had helped many individuals and couples who had been working abroad as missionaries or volunteers who successfully went through the adoption process in both the child’s country of origin and then again back in England.
