Eviction from home of vulnerable man during lockdown prevented
News article published on: 22nd December 2020
Osbornes were instructed just before the lockdown to prevent the eviction of a vulnerable man with capacity issues.
He had accrued rent arrears of around £10,000 as his benefits had been stopped. He was living without gas and electricity due to his inability to manage his affairs.
We arranged a capacity report which confirmed he suffered from brain damage with specific impairment in learning and recalling information. Shortly after, the possession order was set aside as it had been made during a period in which he lacked capacity.
He is now also being assessed by social services.
