Cycling accident claim settled for £13,500
Case study published on: 14th December 2020
Our cycling accident lawyers have settled a personal injury claim for a 35-year-old cyclist who was involved in a road traffic accident.
Our client was riding his bicycle along an empty cycle lane when he was injured by a motorcycle which came to a halt in his path. Our client did not have time to stop and collided with the motorcycle. This caused him to flip over the handlebars of his bike, and to land on the ground hitting his head and his body. The helmet that he was wearing broke as a consequence of the impact.
The helmet in cracking effectively did its job, but did not prevent our client from losing consciousness and suffering from concussion; he was a migraine sufferer and had more frequent migraine attacks in the aftermath of the accident and for a number of months. He also sustained multiple soft tissue injuries including bruising to arms and legs.
The Defendant was subsequently convicted of driving without due care and attention.
The case settled for £13,500.
