Naomi Angell specialises in all areas of children’s law and in particular international and domestic adoption, children’s cases with an immigration interface, child protection, surrogacy and other fertility law cases.
She joined Osbornes in 2002 as a Consultant having previously been a partner for 20 years in Bindman & Partners and then in Goodman Ray Solicitors. She is recognised as a leader in her field in Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500.
Naomi has always combined her case work with involvement with family policy, working to bring about changes in law and practice that she can see from her cases are necessary. In 1981, the International Year of the Child, she set up the Children’s Legal Centre. In 2013 she was invited to take up the position of Patron at the centre.
She has sat on many influential national committees including chairing the Family Law Committee of the Law Society and the Faster Family Justice Committee between 2011 & 2014 and remains a member of the Family Law Committee.
She has regularly briefed and given evidence to select committees of both Houses of Parliament on family law and access to justice issues in general and adoption law and practice in particular. Most recently she is a member of a working group aiming to pilot a dedicated new court for migrant & trafficked children which crosses these children involvement in family, crime and immigration law.
She regularly writes, lectures and contributes to the media on children and family law matters.
